BlackBerry 10

BlackBerry 10 is a mobile operating system from Research in Motion. BlackBerry 10 will be based on technology developed by QNX Software Systems, which RIM acquired in 2010. The original name for this BlackBerry OS was BBX, but RIM changed the name in response to a 2011 lawsuit.

Research in Motion (RIM) officially launched BlackBerry 10 at its BlackBerry World 2012 conference but did not provide a timeframe for its release. Unlike previous versions of the BlackBerry OS, which could only organize apps in rows of icons on the screen, BlackBerry 10 will offer a tiled interface that can displays information associated with an icon in real time.  For example, a weather icon could display the temperature, wind speed and degree of cloudiness in the user's preferred geographical destination. BlackBerry 10 OS will also feature a touch keyboard and video calling between BlackBerry users.
