LAS VEGAS — The big news with the latest version of XenMobile is its standalone MAM offering, but that’s not all. Citrix has other capabilities in store for its enterprise mobility management (EMM) product, including password-free user logins, security improvements and new productivity apps.
The company previewed these XenMobile features here today, the first day of its Synergy user conference:
Password-free EMM: Citrix has partnered with Intercede and Entrust on technology it calls “derived credentials.” With this feature, once a user’s device is enrolled in XenMobile, he or she will be able to use certificate-based authentication or TouchID to log in to managed apps, instead of a username and password.
Security improvements: XenMobile will have closer integration with Samsung Knox, allowing IT to enroll multiple Knox devices in XenMobile at a time. Citrix has also partnered with Skycure to bring that company’s mobile threat detection technology to XenMobile. And another new feature, Smart Access, will detect jailbroken and rooted devices and prevent them from launching managed apps.
Productivity apps: A managed communication app, WorxChat, will integrate with Microsoft Lync. Also in store is Secure Forms, which allows for the codeless development of apps that mobilize common paper-driven processes.
