XenMobile Device Manager (XDM)

Contributor(s): Matthew Haughn

XenMobile Device Manager (XDM) is the MDM (mobile device management) component within Citrix’s  enterprise mobility management (EMM) product.

The XenMobile platform combines MDM, MAM (mobile application management), file sharing and cloud storage with data security features to facilitate support for BYOD (bring your own device) and productivity apps without requiring on-site mobile app developers and extra IT staff.

XenMobile's device management supports remote pass code changes, remote wipes of apps and app data and complete remote factory reset. That ability makes it easier to manage employee role and device changes, as well as minimizing data theft risk in the event that a device is stolen.

Xenmobile also includes a secure browser with always-on server-based SSL tunneling, encryption of both data at rest and data in transit and secure email. A unified app store makes it possible for standard apps to pass through into an enterprise’s custom app store, so an administrator can just approve an external app rather than having something similar developed in-house.
