SAP Mobile Documents

Contributor(s): Matthew Haughn

SAP Mobile Documents is a service that delivers documents of all kinds, including those that traditionally require desktop software, to all types of mobile devices and web browsers.

SAP’s Mobile Documents Server delivers content not typically viewable on mobile devices to the smaller screens. That ability allows workers to access needed documents while on the road, through any mobile device and without the security risk often associated with consumer services. The service also reduces risk to an organization’s intellectual property (IP).

SAP Mobile Documents supports pushing documents on a per-device basis, allowing them to be pushed according to the device user’s role in an organization. The server supports printing and presenting directly from a mobile device by cloning the screen onto another display and allowing the touch screen to be used as a pointer.

The SAP Mobile Documents Server is based on SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java 7.3, SP9 or 7.3 EHP 1, SP5 or above.
