RFID tagging for employee tracking

RFID tagging for employee tracking

Is there any software and hardware available (like RFID) to interface remote event-type (on/off) hardware to track employees by their number to the use of the event-type equipment, and track the employee through the work areas?

What this question implies is that if you give an employee a RFID card/badge -- that it is actively broadcasting its information 24x7. This, unfortunately, is not how most RFID tagging technologies work. RFID tags are typically passive, contain no internal power source, and require an active short-range reader to generate the electro-magnetic field that powers the tag and causes it to release the information that has been programmed into it. Said another way, RFID tags are not broadcasting transponders (such as those in a commercial airplane).
